Q What is the purpose of the St.
John’s Web Store?
A Early
this year, our nearly 100 year old Church
building was declared structurally unsafe. We
were forced to move Worship Services to our
Parish Hall. In May of this year, our
Congregation voted to build a new Church. The
cost is expected to be in excess of $1,000,000.
The St. John’s Web Store is one of many fund
raising programs being implemented for this
purpose.
Q You
advertise your Store as an “affiliate” of
Amazon.com. Exactly what does that mean?
A Our
Web Store is actually a “portal” to Amazon.com.
Once you enter the Store, you are actually
shopping on the Amazon.com web site. Through a
special code which is automatically inserted to
identify any product you purchase from Amazon,
St. John’s receives a 4% to 15% commission.
Q I am a
“Prime” member of Amazon.com, and as such
receive free shipping for all of my orders.
Does the St. John’s Web Store offer the same
benefits?
A Yes.
You will get free shipping on every order that
you place through our Store that is eligible for
“Prime” benefits.
Q Does St.
John’s receive any of my personal information as
a result of purchases I make through your Web
Store, such as credit card information?
A No.
The only reports we receive from Amazon are
summary reports which display the products that
were sold and the commission we received on each
sale. There is no correlating information we
receive tying the product to the purchaser.
Q If I place
an order directly with Amazon.com, does St.
John’s still receive a commission?
A No.
You MUST go through the St. John’s Web Store
portal in order for us to receive the
appropriate commission for your purchase.
Q Do I have
to be a member of St. John’s to use your Store
and help with your fund raising activities for
your new Church?
A
Absolutely not!! Any visitor to our Web Site
may use our Store. We encourage everyone to do
so as well as spread the word to others.
