Burrito Project

Tuesday December 30, 2025, the Burrito Project Team was busy doing our thing. This time the trip was special in a couple of ways. It was special in that Jill, Rick, Bethann, Lee and Tracey took care of distributing the food and supplies with temperatures in the 20s. The city had declared a cod blue situation. Though none of them do this for recognition, Jay thinks they deserve a special pat on the back for facing the elements in order to feed and distribute items to help the homeless survive the cold. The people that we serve badly need what we are providing.

Another special thing about this time around is that in addition to Thrivent Financial that helps pay for the food we put together, ECMC Foundation provided over 100 fleece jackets for us to distribute. Those jackets were especially valuable in the frigid weather.

We also need to thank the Burrito Project team that were not mentioned earlier, and all of the people who donated items for us to distribute. There are about 100 people on the streets who are safer and better off because of everyone involved.

YOUR TALENTS ARE NEEDED

God gave us all special talents. As a thank you, it's up to you to use those talents in His church. There are many opportunities here at St. John's, and it doesn't have to be complicated or overly time consuming. It could be helping with altar guild, folding bulletins, ushering, reading lessons, church maintenance, Burrito Project, etc. What are your talents? Make 2025 the year you use your talents to God's glory! Contact the church office to sign up!

PRAYER LABYRINTH

The Prayer Labyrinth Walk is held on the second Wednesday of every month, year-round, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  The Prayer Labyrinth is in the Parish Hall. Each hour, there are 15 minute segments, with 3 slots available during each 15-minute segment, so that up to 3 people can walk the labyrinth at a time. People should sign up on the sheet on the counter in the lobby ahead of time, to accommodate everyone who would like to take part.

Prayer Labyrinths have been used for thousands of years by many religions and Christian denominations as a spiritual, meditative, and prayer tool.

If anyone has a question, please send an email to this address: prayerlabyrinth@gmail.com.
