Growing up, I belonged to a few different churches, but it was not a constant in my life. I have always prayed and trusted in God, and believed my faith was solid even if it was in the background. There have been many times when darkness, uncertainty and anxiety ruled my life. I did not know where I would end up, how I would make it through the difficult times. When I doubted God’s plan and His words, I was once again lost and afraid. Fear brings darkness, turmoil, and feeling of being unsettled and lost. It is very strong and is easy to give into especially when I was already knocked down.
I found that when I prayed and asked God for help, I felt calmer. I knew things would work out the way they were supposed to. My faith grows stronger the more I trust in God and the less fear has any hold on me. Trusting in God gives strength, guidance, and the confidence to tackle any problem, to keep walking through the difficulties because God is my direction. Knowing He is leading me has filled my life with brightness, hope, and tranquility. There is no storm, only calmness. His plan for me, His words and promises are what I believe and trust in. That is what keeps me moving with my head held high and ready to take on anything. He is my Leader.
God, I pray that you help me to see and
remember that you are the light and hope that
banishes my fear. You are who I need to follow and
trust in because you will never steer me wrong.
